Small vineyards in Coombsville and the foothills southeast of downtown Napa are where SoNa is derived. These cool-climate vines encourage the wine’s peppery aromas and characteristics. A wine’s balance and elegance come from resolved tannins brought on by the colder growth conditions. The fruit may be expressed to its fullest potential with minimal maceration and prudent use of new French oak.
