Nestled in the heart of Austrias Burgenland region, Meinklang is a family-run estate located near the Hungarian border. Operated by the Michlits family, the winery is a model of biodynamic farming and self-sufficient agriculture. Their philosophy embraces holistic vineyard stewardship, integrating livestock, ancient grains, orchards, and vines, creating a thriving ecosystem that expresses itself through their natural wines.
This vintage of Meinklang Prosa is a gently sparkling ros (frizzante), crafted primarily from Pinot Noir with occasional inclusion of Zweigelt and Blaufrnkisch, depending on vintage conditions. Pale salmon-pink in colour with a soft orange hue, it opens with vibrant aromas of wild strawberries, raspberries, and red currants, underpinned by a faint floral note and hints of garden herbs. On the palate, its refreshingly crisp with fine bubbles and lively acidity, offering flavours of juicy berry fruit, rose petal, and a subtle minerality.
This frizzante style strikes a beautiful balance between elegance and energy, showcasing Meinklangs dedication to low-intervention winemaking and biodynamic purity.
Food Pairing
Pairs wonderfully with fresh salads, grilled shrimp, charcuterie, or creamy goat cheese. The delicate sparkle and bright acidity also make it a delightful aperitif.
