Carte Blanche reflects the traditional style of the fine wines from Champagne of the 19th century. It is a soft and creamy Champagne, releasing a pure fruit that gives it a lovely vibrant character. After a few years ageing in the cellar, it has reached perfect maturity and, thanks to the Louis Roederer art of blending, shows astonishing freshness and subtlety. Aged between 3 and 4 years in their cellars, Carte Blanche expresses itself with a rich, creamy texture that contrasts with its freshness. It unleashes a succession of delectable notes of cooked fruit, baked apple, white flowers, almond and frangipane. This lovely, well-balanced epicurean champagne is an instant hit.
A champagne with a luscious character that does not fade with the passing years. – Jean-Baptiste Lcaillon, Cellar Master
91 Points – Vinous The NV Demi Sec Carte Blanche is a beautiful wine in this style, with striking textural depth and nuance. Pear, apple, jasmine and mint notes abound in a very pretty, highly expressive Champagne to drink over the next few years. This is an impeccable wine in the Demi-Sec style. This release is based on the 2010 vintage. The higher level of sugar works beautifully to balance some of the austerity seen in other 2010s here such as the Ros. Dosage is 38 grams/Liter.
90 Points – Wine Enthusiast The wine is only just off dry, giving a wine that is deliciously crisp and fruity. Ripe apple and creamed pear flavors are lifted by balanced acidity. The fruitiness and the just off-dry character make this a wine that would be just as good as an apritif as with food.
90 Points – Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate The NV Extra-Dry Carte Blanche is based on the Brut Premier, but receives a higher dosage of 16 grams per liter. Even though the Carte Blanche naturally shows a bit more sweetness than the Brut Premier it also maintains considerable focus and energy. Here the expression of fruit tends towards brighter, more floral white fruits, green apples/pears. The wine’s balance and length are first rate.
16.5/20 Points – Jancis Robinson Pretty, aromatic nose. Medium dry and nicely balanced. Zesty. Lime flavours.
