Maison Joseph Drouhin, founded in Beaune in 1880, is a family-owned operation that has been in the hands of the Drouhin family for the last 130 years. The winery is dedicated to showcasing the authenticity and subtle variations of Burgundy’s diverse terroirs and operates with an ideal of perfection and elegance. The vineyard practices are biological and biodynamic, using only natural products and demonstrating the utmost respect for the soil, the vine, and the environment.

This ‘outstanding wine’ is made from 100% Chardonnay. It displays a pale yellow color with a brilliant sheen. The complex nose is both floral and fruity, offering scents of white lilac, white rose, sweet pear, peach, mandarin, and quince, which evolve toward notes of grilled hazelnut and almond.

On the palate, it is full-bodied, rich, and ample with a lively, sleek, and slightly oily texture. The flavour profile includes crushed stone, lemon curd, dried lime peel, and clementine sweetness. It is noted for its great depth, fine acidity, and harmonious fullness, achieving a complexity and elegance akin to a Btard-Montrachet. The finish is long and intense, often described as ‘lusty’. The wine shows a seamless, satiny, textural profile. The house of Joseph Drouhin has adopted the biological and biodynamic approach to farming, and the alcoholic and malolactic fermentations occur in oak barrels.
