Founded in 1978 by Sebastiano Jasci, this was one of the earliest Italian wineries to adopt organic farming techniques. With the help of his wife, Lucia Marchesani, Sebastiano started by selling wines exclusively to the locals near the town. He would load up the wines into their little truck and deliver everything himself. Eventually, they were joined by their sons Ludovico and Nicola, who manage the winery today.
The Jasci & Marchesani Montepulciano dAbruzzo is made from 100% Montepulciano harvested from plots in Vasto, Monteodorisio, and Casalbordino. It was aged 6 months in oak barrels. It has an intense ruby-red colour with light violet highlights. The nose has the hallmark Montepulciano qualities of dark fruit and dried herbs alongside vanilla notes. This wine is full-bodied and austere, the perfect accompaniment to meats and cheeses and Friday night pizza!
