Domaine Nico ‘Grand Pere’ Pinot Noir 2021

With a winning combination of cool weather, high elevation and well-draining alluvial soils, it is no surprise that Mendoza’s Uco Valley is one of the most exciting up-and-coming wine regions in Argentina. Healthy, easy-to-manage vines produce low yields of high-quality fruit, which in turn create flavourful, full-bodied wines with generous acidity.

The vineyard is old, planted in Villa Bastas with Dijon Clones in 1993. The Grand Pere parcel is more shaded, with delicate red fruits and high acidity. Mineral. The Grand Mre parcel gets more sun, with generous and silky tannins. Winemaking is traditional and gentle for these delicate wines. Yields are extremely low in both sites due to the age of the vineyard.
