Domaine Marc Morey & Fils Chassagne Montrachet Premier Cru ‘En Virondot’ 2023

Fernand Morey founded what would become Domaine Marc Morey after returning home from World War I. His son, Marc, took over the domaine in 1944, expanded their holdings in Chassagne-Montrachet while also introducing domaine bottling. Today, Marc’s granddaughter, Sabine Mollard, is in charge of the estate and has been the winemaker since 2003.

Domaine Marc Morey’s cellars are located directly under the century-old family home right in the village of Chassagne-Montrachet. Vinification is flexible according to the vintage, with the wines resting on their lees for an average of 10 months for the whites and 15 months for the reds in a maximum of 30% new oak barrels.

This is one of the most respected estates in Chassagne-Montrachet and Sabine’s wines are consistently regarded as among the finest in the village, year after year, regardless of vintage conditions.
