Wine Description

The 2007 vintage of Chateau Pontet Canet presents a deep garnet colour, with slight evolution at the rim. The nose opens with aromas of ripe red cherries, cassis, and plums, accompanied by notes of cedar, graphite, and dried herbs. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with silky tannins and a refined texture, offering flavours of red and black fruit, tobacco leaf, and subtle spice. Balanced and elegant, the wine finishes with lingering notes of earth and minerality. Composed primarily of Cabernet Sauvignon, with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, this vintage is approachable now, with an optimal drinking window through the late 2020s.
