France, Bordeaux, Saint Julien. Chteau Ducru Beaucaillou, classified as a Deuxime Grand Cru Class in 1855, is one of the most celebrated estates of the Mdoc. Owned by the Borie family since 1941, the estate is renowned for its precision, elegance, and the unique gravel terroir (beaux cailloux or beautiful stones) that shapes its wines.
Deep garnet-purple in colour, it opens with captivating aromas of crushed blackcurrant, redcurrant preserve, and wild blueberry, layered with dark chocolate, violets, and hints of exotic spice. The palate is concentrated and powerful yet refined, with ripe black fruit, graphite, and floral undertones supported by finely polished tannins. Full-bodied and structured, the wine displays outstanding balance, freshness, and a long, mineral-driven finish.

This Saint Julien pairs beautifully with prime rib roast, venison, or beef Wellington. Earthy dishes such as wild mushroom risotto or truffle-infused pasta also complement its depth and complexity.
