Casa Raia is a small, family-run estate located just outside the medieval town of Montalcino, at an elevation of approximately 375 metres. The winery, owned and operated by Pierre Jean Monnoyer and Kalyna, is dedicated to certified organic and biodynamic farming, respecting the rhythms of nature and the individuality of each vintage. Their philosophy centres on minimal intervention, allowing the vines and terroir to express themselves fully.
Wine Description
In the glass, it shows an intense ruby red colour with brilliant clarity. Aromas reveal layers of blackcurrant, blackberry, and raspberry, interwoven with thyme, nutmeg, tobacco, and subtle dried fig. The palate is full-bodied yet graceful, with ripe black fruit, earthy spice, and a hint of cocoa, supported by fine tannins and lively acidity.
Food Pairing
Perfect alongside classic Tuscan fare such as bistecca alla Fiorentina, wild boar rag with pappardelle, or aged pecorino. This pairing highlights the wines depth and character.
