The Brancaia story began in 1981 when the Swiss Widmer family purchased the Brancaia estate as a Tuscan family retreat. Founders Bruno and Brigitte Widmer immediately committed to producing only the highest quality wines, a vision continued today by their daughter, Barbara Widmer, the oenologist responsible for production. The winerys philosophy centres on achieving harmony, both in the wines balance and through a deep respect for nature and the terroir, blending Italian style with Swiss precision.

Wine Description

This wine presents a very dense, bright ruby colour with a beautiful brilliance. The aroma is inviting and multi-layered, opening with notes of black currant, mint, spearmint, and blackberry, layered with hints of sandalwood, dark chocolate, violet, and sweet spice. On the palate, it is rich and silky, medium to full-bodied, expanding over the mouth with sweet black fruit tones and vibrant acidity. It features superb, dense, and well-mannered tannins that are fine, firm, and creamy, supporting a core of ripe dark fruit and graphite.
