This Pinot Noir is from France, specifically the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation in the Burgundy region. Bouchard Pre & Fils is one of the oldest wine estates in Burgundy, founded in 1731 by Michel Bouchard. The estate has grown over centuries through the acquisition of prestigious vineyards and now holds 130 hectares of vines, making it the largest vineyard owner in the Cte dOr. The winery prioritizes sustainability and focuses on expressing the authenticity of each individual terroir.
The wine is 100% Pinot Noir. It presents a deep ruby colour with violet undertones. The bouquet is intense and perfumed, offering aromas of red and black berries combined with delicate woody and spicy notes. On the palate, it is a refined and well-balanced wine that marries power and elegance. It has silky tannins and a velvety texture, with fruity and subtly woody flavours. The wines structure leads to a lingering and well-balanced finish. It has good aging potential and can be kept for about 10 years or more.
