The Borgogno Barolo Cannubi 2019 is made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, often displaying an intense ruby red colour. On the nose, it offers a captivating plot of red fruits, spices, and an ethereal floral nature of roses and violets, or notes of baked cherry, pine, and savory porcini. Some note ripe fruit with aromas of dried cherry skin or plum, while others find notes of framboise, fresh leather, licorice, and rosemary. The palate is full-bodied, yet elegant, deep, and broad, with juicy fruits and fine spices. Stylistic notes include a balance between vigor and grace, with a fresh floral finish, a forward-driving acidity, and sweet, persistent, and refined tannins. The wine is characterized by power and shows intensity and focus, remaining refined and elegant. Made with organically farmed grapes, it is noted to be one of the most approachable single cru wines in this vintage. The optimal drinking window is quite wide, with recommendations to drink from 20252050 or to try after 2028.
