The Bollinger Vieilles Vignes Franaises 2009 is an extraordinarily rare and historic Champagne, produced from ungrafted Pinot Noir vines in the Grand Cru village of A. Champagne Bollinger, founded in 1829, has long been renowned for its rich and structured wines. This cuve is crafted exclusively from two pre-phylloxera plots, Chaudes Terres and Clos St. Jacques, which are cultivated by hand using traditional methods. As one of the last Champagnes made from ungrafted vines, it offers a direct link to the regions past, making it one of the most sought-after and limited-production wines in the world. Only 2,420 bottles were produced in this vintage.
The vines used for Bollinger Vieilles Vignes Franaises are exceptionally rare pre-phylloxera Pinot Noir vines that date back to the late 19th century, making them over 120 years old.
The 2009 Vieilles Vignes Franaises presents a deep golden hue, exuding richness and depth. The nose is highly expressive, with aromas of quince jelly, mirabelle plum, and dried fruits, accented by notes of mocha and toasted brioche. The palate is opulent yet precise, delivering layers of ripe orchard fruit, spice, and mineral-driven complexity. The finish is exceptionally long, with a saline edge that enhances its elegance. Made exclusively from Pinot Noir, this Blanc de Noirs Champagne has a dosage of 4 grams per liter and was cellar-aged for more than twice the time required by appellation standards, resulting in a wine of remarkable depth and refinement.
This rare Champagne pairs beautifully with luxurious dishes such as white caviar and Alba truffle, which highlight its depth and complexity. Together, they create an unforgettable dining experience.
