Moonwater is 100% Merlot sourced from a cool-climate vineyard in Bennett Valley, a pocket within Sonoma County thats defined by its fog influence, volcanic soils, and high-elevation slopes. The 2023 vintage offered moderate, slow-ripening conditions, allowing the fruit to achieve full phenolic maturity while retaining freshness and tension.
The wine is crafted with a minimalist, hands-off approach. Grapes are harvested by hand, fermented spontaneously with native yeasts, and aged in a combination of neutral oak barrels and concrete to preserve purity and structure. No additives, no new oak, and no heavy extractionjust gentle guidance from vineyard to bottle. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, with minimal sulfur.
This is a Merlot for Burgundy loversbright, herbal, and elegant, not heavy or overly ripe. Pair with roast chicken, lentil salad with walnut vinaigrette, mushroom tart, or grilled pork chops with fennel and rosemary.

Unturned Stone Productions is a small, independently run winery by husband-and-wife team Sara Morgenstern and David Rothschild, both veterans of Californias natural wine movement.
