The 2023 Domaine Vindiou “Brves de Comptoir” Syrah is a fresh, vibrant expression of Syrah crafted by micro-ngociants Thomas and Cyprien in southern France, blending fruit from the Ardche and Gard regions. Fermented with indigenous yeasts and whole bunches, then aged for 10 months in a mix of stainless steel and neutral oak, this natural wine is unfiltered, lightly sulfured, and intentionally minimalist. It pours light-to-medium in body with juicy red and black fruits, floral lift, and a peppery, savory edge that reflects its Rhne-adjacent granite soils. At just 12% alcohol, its lively and food-friendly, best enjoyed slightly chilled. Designed for casual enjoyment but with serious terroir character, its a standout for fans of natural, expressive Syrah with a playful, approachable style.
ABOUT THIS PRODUCER
Thomas & Cyprien, two friends who met in Bordeaux and traveled worldwide before launching Vindiou in Northern Rhne/Ardche. They partner with local artisanal growers, focusing on small plots, manual harvesting, indigenous yeast fermentations, and minimal intervention. Aging occurs in stainless steel and older Burgundy barrels (24 wines), with just a touch of SO at bottling.
