ABOUT THE WINE
Named in tribute to Lucien and Lulu Peyraudvisionaries behind the revival of Bandol and the spiritual heart of Domaine TempierLulu & Lucien is the domaines foundational cuve and a benchmark for Mourvdre-based reds. The 2023 vintage is composed of approximately 75% Mourvdre, with Grenache, Cinsault, and a touch of Carignan rounding out the blend. Sourced from a mosaic of organically farmed estate vineyards across Bandol, the wine is fermented with native yeasts and aged in large, old oak foudres for 18 to 20 months. This levage preserves the purity of fruit and structure of Mourvdre without masking its inherent rustic elegance. Designed to be enjoyed young with decanting or cellared for 1015 years, its a versatile partner to dishes like grilled lamb, cassoulet, or roasted root vegetables with Provenal herbs.
ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Domaine Tempier is the emblematic estate of Bandol, with a lineage stretching back to 1834 and a defining legacy shaped by Lucien and Lulu Peyraud in the 20th century. Their tireless advocacy for Mourvdre and traditional farming was pivotal in establishing Bandols AOC status in 1941. Today, the estate remains family-owned and organically farmed, producing wines that honor place, varietal integrity, and generational stewardship. From the foundational Lulu & Lucien cuve to the iconic single-vineyard bottlings, Tempier’s wines are deeply rooted in the limestone hills of Provence and a philosophy that blends precision with rustic charm.
