This Bourgogne Rouge is drawn entirely from estate vineyards located just outside the boundaries of Volnay, with similar limestone-rich soils and meticulous vineyard care. Treated with the same biodynamic practices and precision as dAngervilles Premier Cru parcels, this wine reflects the domaines dedication to quality at every level.
The 2023 vintage brought a return to classic Burgundian balancemoderate ripening, cool nighttime temperatures, and ideal picking conditions contributed to wines of finesse, bright acidity, and clear site expression. Fermentation took place with indigenous yeasts, followed by aging in used French oak barrels (no new oak), allowing the purity of Pinot Noir to shine.
In the magnum format, this wine gains aromatic lift and age-worthiness. Delicate notes of redcurrant, cherry skin, violet, and forest floor are supported by fine-grained tannins and a spine of refreshing acidity.
