ABOUT THE WINE

Les Cazetiers is one of the crown jewels of Gevrey-Chambertinoften considered Grand Cru in all but name. Perched high on the Combe de Lavaux with exceptional exposure and limestone-rich soils, it consistently produces wines of intensity and structure. In 2023, a long, balanced growing season allowed Faiveley to harvest fruit with excellent ripeness, vibrant acidity, and fine phenolic development.

The grapes were hand-picked and fully destemmed, with fermentation using indigenous yeasts and gentle extraction to respect the terroirs muscularity without over-extraction. The wine was aged in French oak barrels (around 50% new) for 1618 months, adding subtle spice and dimension to the wines brooding fruit and mineral backbone.

The 2023 Cazetiers delivers classic Gevrey powerblackberry, black tea, wild thyme, and crushed rockwrapped in refined tannins and brightened by fresh acidity. Its a wine that benefits from decanting in youth and will continue to evolve beautifully over the next 1520 years. Pair with braised lamb shank, venison, or aged Comt.
