Produced by Fratelli Cigliuti, this Barbaresco is sourced exclusively from the Serraboella crua steep, south- and southwest-facing vineyard known for producing structured, age-worthy Nebbiolo. The 2013 vintage was cool and classically styled, allowing for slow, even ripening and excellent aromatic development.
Grapes are hand-harvested and fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel before being aged for 26 months in a mix of large Slavonian oak casks and smaller French barriques, followed by additional time in bottle. In magnum format, the wine develops more slowly and gracefully, preserving vibrancy while enhancing complexity over the years. Pair it with braised meats, wild mushroom risotto, or aged cheeses for a truly memorable experience.
Azienda Agricola Fratelli Cigliuti is a small, family-run estate based in Neive, in the heart of Barbaresco. Now led by sisters Claudia and Silvia Cigliuti, the winery traces its roots to the 1960s, when their father Renato first began bottling under the family name. The Cigliutis farm just 6 hectares, focusing on low yields, sustainable practices, and meticulous attention to vineyard health and terroir expression.
The Serraboella Barbaresco is their flagship wineintensely site-driven, expressive, and capable of long aging. With a blend of tradition and thoughtful innovation, the Cigliuti family continues to craft Nebbiolo wines that are both soulful and precise, with a purity that speaks clearly of place and heritage.
