Chteau dArmailhac is a Fifth Growth estate under the ownership of the Baron Philippe de Rothschild family, sharing its heritage and terroir with nearby Mouton Rothschild. The 2011 vintagea cooler, more classic yearproduced wines of moderate alcohol and greater freshness. The blend consists of approximately 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot, grown on deep gravel soils ideal for ripening Cabernet. Fermented in stainless steel and aged in oak barrels (2530% new) for about 16 months, the wine balances purity of fruit with structure and subtle oak influence. Best enjoyed with herb-crusted lamb, duck confit, or aged cheeses.
Chteau dArmailhac, formerly known as Mouton dArmailhacq, has a history dating back to the 18th century and lies adjacent to Chteau Mouton Rothschild in Pauillac. Acquired by the Rothschild family in 1933, the estate has undergone significant modernization while retaining its individual identity. With 70+ hectares of vines planted on classic Mdoc gravel, the estate consistently produces Cabernet Sauvignonled blends that emphasize elegance, freshness, and terroir fidelity. Under the stewardship of the Rothschilds and the technical direction of the Mouton team, dArmailhac has emerged as one of Pauillacs best-value classed growths, offering accessible structure and pedigree without excess weight.
