A grand expression of a truly great vintage, the 2010 Chteau Mouton Rothschild is a blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Merlot, sourced from the estates gravel-rich vineyards in the heart of Pauillac. The vintage was marked by ideal ripening conditions and small, intensely concentrated berries, yielding a wine of incredible density and balance. Fermentation occurred in oak vats, followed by 1920 months of aging in 100% new French oak barrels. The result is a wine of monumental structure, purity, and longevityarguably one of the finest Moutons of the 21st century. Ideal pairings include dry-aged ribeye, roast game, or truffle-stuffed pigeon.
Chteau Mouton Rothschild, elevated to First Growth status in 1973, is one of Bordeauxs most illustrious estates, located in Pauillac on the Left Bank of the Gironde. Owned by the Rothschild family since 1853, Mouton is renowned for its opulent, Cabernet-driven wines, avant-garde spirit, and commitment to excellence. The estate is equally celebrated for its tradition of commissioning original artwork for each vintages label, with the 2010 featuring a design by Jeff Koons. Under the direction of Philippe Dhalluin at the time, Mouton achieved remarkable consistency and quality, producing wines that balance power and polish while staying true to their storied terroir.
