Chteau La Lagune is a classifiedThird Classified Growth of Haut-Mdoc.
A blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot. Aged for 14 months in 50% new barrels.
Chteau La Lagune wines possess elegance and balance, two features which typify the great Bordeaux wines. But add freshness, harmony, and a touch of femininity grant La Lagune true personality. An exceptional terroir, perfectly mature grapes, careful vinification, respectful aging, therein lies the secret of the La Lagune style.
The perfectly ripe grapes are harvested between the 22nd of September and the 7th of October. They are then transported to the vat room in small crates, in order to preserve the fruit. The grapes are then sorted before being transferred, using a gravity flow method, to the stainless steel vats. The wines are then aged in barrels, using the traditional method. The final blend is carries out during the ageing process, with the wines from the best plots.

Magnificently located on Bordeaux’s Left Bank, Chteau La Lagune is one of the finest references in the Haut-Mdoc appellation. This estate, the 3rd Grand Cru class 1855, is located on the prestigious Chteaux Route that runs through the Mdoc. At the head of the estate since 2004, the young and talented oenologist, Caroline Frey, has been injecting all her energy, passion and determination into this wine in order to raise Chteau La Lagune to the highest level.
Perched on an alluvial terrace overlooking the Garonne, the terroir of La Lagune represents the Mdoc model. The 80 hectares of vines are planted on light gravel and silica soils. Since 2016, the Chteau holds an organic certification.
