ABOUT THIS PRODUCER:
Wine has been made on the estates prestigious plateau soils as far back as the Middle Ages, when local monks cultivated the vines. During the 17th century, the land was owned by the Gers family, and later their heirs, the de Carles. In 1869, the property was divided to form Chteau Beausjour-Duffau-Lagarrosse (the present-day Chteau Beausjour) and what became known as Chteau Beausjour-Dr-Fagouet after its new owner. In 1969, the estate was sold to Michel Bcot, who not only re-christened it, but also initiated extensive modernisation. His children Grard, Dominique and Juliette run Beau-Sjour Bcot today.
