Blasted Church ‘Nectar of the Gods’ 2022

Blasted Church is a small, family-run winery that aims to achieve greatness by focusing on the pursuit of quality, utilising the best grapes and best oak barrels. The ‘Nectar of the Gods’ project is the result of this philosophy, intended to be a true expression of the season unencumbered by the status quo.

The ‘Nectar of the Gods 2022’ is a traditional Bordeaux Blend, featuring Cabernet Sauvignon from the estate, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. It pours a deep ruby colour. The aromatic profile is complex, with notes of ripe plum, bramble berries, cured meat, leather, and cassis. The palate begins with a fresh yet rich attack of bramble berries, chocolate, and plum. A structure of fine-grained tannin builds through the mid-palate, carrying the texture into the balanced finish. Stylistically, the wine exhibits a beautiful balance between freshness and a ripe fruit profile, with great structure. Given the exceptional quality of the vintage, this wine is expected to have outstanding ageing potential.
