From Frances Bordeaux region, in the Pauillac appellation of the Mdoc, Chteau Latour is one of the five First Growth estates classified in 1855. Owned by Franois Pinault since 1993, the estate is famed for its meticulous vineyard management and its emphasis on producing wines of exceptional longevity and structure. The vines within the iconic lEnclos are among the oldest and most prestigious in the region.
The 2017 Chteau Latour reveals a deep purple-black colour. On the nose, it exudes aromas of crme de cassis, blackberry pie, warm plums, violets, and star anise, complemented by cedar, pencil shavings, and subtle spice. The palate is medium to full-bodied, layered, and precise, showing flavours of dark berries, bakers chocolate, and a mineral edge. Structured with fine-grained tannins, the wine delivers vibrancy and freshness, finishing long and savoury with a saline lift.
Ideal with classic dishes such as roasted lamb, prime rib, or duck confit. Aged cheeses like Comt or aged Gouda also enhance the wines layered complexity.
