Sixth generation winemakers at Domaine Michel Nollat, cousins Sebastien Nollat and Sophie Nollat-Sirugue are beginning to carve out a significant international reputation, and deservedly so. With vines averaging 60-70 years, a reduced reliance on oak, and the adoption of a pragmatic investment strategy, quality has been on the rise since they began working together. The Clos Vougeot is their top wine, while the Echezeaux is a proper gem. Their entire range is wonderful, the wines deep, round and super-generous, the tannins soft like graphite, the terroir shining through.
