Tignanello is one of the most iconic wines produced by Marchesi Antinori, a family with over 600 years of winemaking heritage. The estate is located in the heart of Chianti Classico, between the Greve and Pesa river valleys, where the Antinori family pioneered a revolutionary approach to winemaking in Italy. First released in 1971, Tignanello was among the first Italian wines to incorporate Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc in a Sangiovese-based blend, breaking traditional winemaking norms. It was also the first modern red wine in Chianti Classico to be aged in small French oak barrels, setting a benchmark for the Super Tuscan movement.
Vintage Quality:
The 2022 vintage in Tuscany, Italy, was characterized by a very hot and dry growing season, with record-breaking temperatures and low rainfall, but was largely considered a very good, and in some places, even great

Theres extraordinary energy in this wine. It displays a dark nose of black cherries, bramble fruit, violets, forest, licorice, bark, carob and leather. Density and tension dominate the full-bodied palate, with firm, velvety tannins. Its slightly austere in the finish at the moment, yet its crunchy and full of potential.96 Points James Suckling
