The 2020 Burrowing Owl Malbec is a deep, brooding purple wine with intense aromas of blackberry, crunchy yet ripe raspberry, baked plum, black cherry, blueberry, and notes of pepper, paprika, thyme, clove, and shortbread. The palate is bold, fruity, and intense with a full body, crisp acidity, medium ripe tannins, and flavors of ripe summer berries, blackberry, and sun-dried tomato, complemented by complex notes of pink peppercorn, cocoa, rosemary, pipe tobacco, and dried black olive on the long finish. This wine is approachable now and will continue to develop complexity over the next 5+ years.
