The Joel Gott Zinfandel presents adark ruby and purple hue. The nose is aromatic, offering scents of ripe blackberries, currant, clove, tea, and sandalwood. On the palate, the wine reveals dark fruit flavours of black cherries, plums, and vanilla. It has concentrated, round flavours of caramel and cola on the mid-palate, followed by velvety, supple tannins that lend structure and depth. It is a fruity yet taut and youthful style, showing good balance and length due to ample acidity. The finish is long with a hint of spice.
This Zinfandels bold dark fruit and spice notes make it an excellent partner for hearty meat dishes such as grilled ribeye steak, game, and roast lamb.
