It pours a ruby red color. It offers a complex perfume with notes of cherries (sometimes noted as cooked cherries or cherries in alcohol), red plum, blackberry, and wild berries, harmonizing with warm spicy nuances of cinnamon and clove. Hints of iodine and blood orange also appear. On the palate, the wine’s structure is elegant rather than powerful, featuring soft texture, buoyant tannins, vibrant acidity, and a sapid (savory) taste.
