Wine Description
The 2022 Echezeaux ‘Les Loachausses’ Grand Cru is the inaugural release from a 0.38-hectare parcel previously managed by Gros Frre & Soeur, now under the stewardship of Michel Gros. This 100% Pinot Noir wine showcases a vibrant garnet hue. On the nose, it reveals an expressive bouquet of red berry fruits, Japanese yuzu, Seville orange marmalade, and subtle forest floor nuances. The palate is smooth and harmonious, offering plush textures with a toasty finish attributed to its maturation in 100% new oak. The wine’s ample body and silky tannins are balanced by a lively acidity, culminating in a long, sumptuous finish. While approachable in its youth, this wine will benefit from several years of cellaring to fully integrate its oak components and develop further complexity.
