The 2000 vintage of Chteau Haut-Brion was made from a blend of 49% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 11% Cabernet Franc, each variety carefully hand-harvested and sorted. The wine underwent fermentation in stainless-steel vats, followed by malolactic fermentation and aging for 18 months in French oak barrels (50% new). The 2000 vintage benefited from ideal weather conditions, with a warm summer leading to a perfectly ripe and balanced harvest. This wine combines the richness of Merlot with the structure of Cabernet Sauvignon, creating a wine with both power and finesse. As with all Haut-Brion wines, the 2000 is built for longevity and will continue to evolve in the bottle for many years.
