This ‘Ama’ Chianti Classico, first produced in 2010, is made almost entirely from grapes from the estate’s younger vineyards. It is composed of 96% Sangiovese and 4% Merlot. The wine presents a brilliant, deep ruby red colour. On the nose, it offers an enticing bouquet of red currant, cherry, violet, and strawberry aromas, with subtle hints of cinnamon and rose.
The palate is medium-bodied and harmonious, with flavours of ripe red fruit, chalky minerality, and a touch of white pepper. It is a fresh and floral wine with a core of bright acidity and silky, polished tannins that provide a chalky frame. The finish is crisp, tangy, and refreshing.
